BitTorrent ユーザーおよび Gnutella ユーザー に対して、啓発メールを送付開始 April.01.2014

Consortium against Copyright Infringement via File-Sharing Software (CCIF) have initiated the operation of sending out warning messages to BitTorrent and Gnutella users involved in sharing/releasing copyright infringement files since April 2014.

Japan and International Motion Picture Copyright Association (JIMCA) have also participated in this activity as one of the operational members of CCIF.

The CCIF was founded in 2008 by both telecommunications carrier organizations, and copyright and other rights holder organizations to work together to provide and take measures against those committing copyright infringement using file sharing software. The operation of sending out warning messages to request Winny users, who had been identified to be sharing or releasing copyright infringement contents, to delete the infringed files beginning from March 2010; and the same operation towards Share users had been implemented since December 2011. A total of approximately 37,000 warning messages had been sent out up to January 2014.

Based on the research in 2012 announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, due to *(1) Regarding the status of file sharing software use in Japan that the type of file sharing software used by users is in the state of dispersion, the CCIF have been examining BitTorrent and Gnutella as the subjects to be incorporated into the program of sending out warning messages since July of 2013. As a result of adding BitTorrent and Gnutella this time, outreach efforts are now performed across all major file sharing software used in Japan.
