京都府警察がさらに２名を逮捕! 日本語字幕を違法にアップロードした男性ら（京都府警察本部 サイバー犯罪対策課／伏見警察署） August.02.2016
On August 1st, 2016, police officers from Kyoto Prefectural Police Headquarters Cyber Crime Division and Fushimi Police Station arrested a 63-year-old man from Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture on suspicion of illegally making and uploading subtitled copies of MPAA member companies’ copyrighted movies, in violation of copyright laws.
In addition, on August 1st, 2016, police officers arrested a 58-year-old man from Shima City, Mie Prefecture for illegally uploading illegally subtitled copyrighted movie files to P2P networks without the permission of the copyright holders.
This brings to a total of four individuals that have been apprehended as part of the ongoing operation to dismantle the illegal subtitling of copyright protected movies conducted by the Kyoto Prefectural Police Headquarters Cyber Crime Division and Fushimi Police Station.
JIMCA will continue to support police investigations and assist in the prevention of online infringement of movies and television shows.
